Happy Gotcha Day / 5-12-2020

May 12, 2020 the amazing beginning of this journey that I plan on documenting. The listing that changed everything. It was always an on and off thing for me to randomly go on a search bar to look up vintage campers, even while I was in college. I became locked in on this idea a little over year after college, and actually having money saved. (One positive of the pandemic not being able to go to goodwill) With a couple of months of consistently searching, through all sites that I could possibly get ahold of. From Shastas to really anything vintage on wheels cause I’m an old soul on feet that would have a price tag that wouldn’t hurt as much. The Airstream was without a doubt my number one pick. Going through so many ads I found that Airstreams are the most sought after. I realized I wasn’t alone in the number one pick category. They are as I like to call the “Louis Vuitton” of Vintage Campers/RVs. They hold value regardless if they are well kept, entirely gutted, or abandoned in a random field that houses critters and God only knows what else. It was something I knew would be a challenge and take a long time to find. But hell or high water I was on a mission to find one. In time, tears, and sweat. I had found the one. The listing that had changed everything. I was skeptic it being from a dealer I’d be able to get a price drop. I called(where the sweat comes in) and sure enough managed to make a deal. God is good. My Airstream Dream started to become more of a reality. May 15th I drove up with my mom to see it on a rainy day, the pic I took from the car. I knew. I knew that this was the one.
